This Oregon 30-ton log splitter with the Briggs & Stratton™ 250cc engine allows splitting logs up to 25.5" in length.
The 3000 Series log splitter is a step up in power and performance over the 2500 Series. Delivering up to 30 tons of performance with a 12.9 cycle time. Powered by a professional grade Briggs & Stratton XR1150 engine.

30 ton Oregon Wood Splitter Review
1) Wood Splitters Direct was great. We called and got a real person who helped us with the order.
2) The Delivery went smoothly. I was glad I chose the lift gate option. I have a paved street and driveway and they were able to wheel crate into the garage.
3) The assembly manual was straight forward. Be sure to read it. The bolts came organized on shrink warped card board with the wrench sizes labeled. I assembled everything but the beam by myself. You will need 2 people to lift the beam. (Tip 1 ; mount a board to the beam to make a handle so a person can lift from each side)
4) Once assembled it works fantastic. The first job was splitting 23" diameter spruce that blow over. The wood was wet and green. I set the splitter up vertical and broke the rounds down into quarters. Then set the beam to horizontal and split the quarter into fire place sizes. The machine had no problem busting them down. Knots get sheared or torn in half. The wedge normally only needs to travel about 6" in to make the split
Observations: The welds are high quality. The log strippers are heavy duty (not stamped steel like you see on a Yardmax). The log catcher is made of welded tube steel (not stamped steel like Champion). This is well built, high quality machine.

30 ton splitter handles everything very well - so far, biggest log has been about28" diameter. Especially love the wood tray on the other side that holds the other split half until you are finished with the close half.

Hydraulic capacity is incorrect. It should be 7 1/2 gallons, not 6. Splitter overheated with 6 gallons and burned up pump.
Hello, Sorry to hear about your issues. The system capacity of this log splitter is about 6 gallons. We did pass along your comments to our distributor rep. The did reply saying this is the first they have ever heard of this with thousands sold. Also please make sure you are using the recommended fluid type in the manual. You might also want to take it in to your nearest Oregon dealer to have it looked at. Please let us know if you have any questions.

The new 30 ton splitter works great but there’s a few hiccups , First the pressure hose they sent was to short I had to buy a new one for $40 , They have moved the ram and splitter forward towards the hitch and it’s harder to move around , then the drop down stand is solid and you can’t adjust the splitter for level , There’s no filter screen on the gas tankscreen, But WSD was wonderful to work with !
