Up to 25 Tons of Splitting Force • Double-Acting Design • Clevis Mount • Rebuildable Construction
Replace a worn, damaged, or leaking log splitter cylinder with the 31-111 Hydraulic Log Splitter Cylinder. Featuring a 4-inch bore, 24-inch stroke, and 1-3/4-inch chrome-plated rod, this heavy-duty cylinder is designed as an OEM-style replacement for many log splitters using a double-ear clevis mounting system.
The cylinder produces approximately 22 tons of splitting force at 3,500 PSI and up to 25 tons at its 4,000 PSI maximum operating pressure. Its double-acting design provides hydraulic power during both extension and retraction, while replaceable seals allow the cylinder to be rebuilt after normal wear.
Key Features & Benefits
-
4-Inch Bore
Provides approximately 22 tons of splitting force at 3,500 PSI and 25 tons at 4,000 PSI. -
24-Inch Stroke
Offers the cylinder travel commonly used on full-size residential log splitters. -
Double-Acting Operation
Two hydraulic ports provide powered extension and retraction. -
1-3/4" Chrome-Plated Rod
Heavy-duty piston rod provides strength along with a durable, corrosion-resistant working surface. -
9/16" Wedge-Mounting Hole
The rod end includes a 9/16-inch hole for connection to compatible wedge assemblies. -
Double-Ear Clevis Mount
Uses mounting ears with 7/8-inch inside spacing and accommodates beams up to 3/4 inch thick. -
Up to 1-1/8" Clevis Pin
Large mounting holes accommodate compatible pins measuring up to 1-1/8 inches in diameter. -
1/2" NPT Hydraulic Ports
Uses common hydraulic connections for integration into compatible log splitter systems. -
Rebuildable Construction
Internal seals can be replaced, helping extend cylinder service life rather than requiring complete cylinder replacement after seal wear. -
Black Powder-Coated Finish
Helps protect the cylinder exterior against corrosion and outdoor exposure.
Hydraulic Splitting Performance
The amount of splitting force produced depends on the hydraulic system’s actual operating pressure:
| Hydraulic Pressure | Approximate Extension Force |
|---|---|
| 3,500 PSI | 22 Tons |
| 4,000 PSI | 25 Tons |
The cylinder’s published maximum operating pressure is 4,000 PSI and should not be exceeded. Actual splitter performance also depends on the pump, control valve, relief-valve setting, hoses, fittings, engine, and overall condition of the hydraulic system.
OEM-Style Replacement Applications
The AGKNX 31-111 is designed as a common replacement for many double-acting, clevis-mount cylinders used on log splitters from brands and product lines such as:
- Huskee
- SplitMaster
- Oregon
- SpeeCo
- Select other compatible log splitters
Fitment is not guaranteed by brand alone. Different models and production years may use different mounting dimensions, ports, and cylinder lengths. Compare the specifications with the existing cylinder before ordering.

Package Contents
- One 31-111 hydraulic log splitter cylinder
Hydraulic hoses, fittings, control valve, pump, mounting pins, hardware, hydraulic fluid, and seal kit are not listed as included.
Important Fitment Information
This cylinder is not universal. Before ordering, compare the replacement cylinder with your existing cylinder and verify:
- 4-inch bore
- 24-inch stroke
- 32-1/2-inch retracted length
- 56-1/2-inch extended length
- 7/8-inch clevis-ear spacing
- Clevis pin diameter
- 9/16-inch rod-end mounting hole
- 1/2-inch NPT hydraulic ports
- Port location and orientation
- Available installation clearance
Do not select a replacement cylinder based only on the splitter’s advertised tonnage. Two log splitters with the same tonnage rating can use different cylinder dimensions and mounting configurations.
Important Hydraulic Information
The hydraulic system’s pressure-relief valve must prevent pressure from exceeding the cylinder’s 4,000 PSI maximum operating rating. All hoses, fittings, valves, pumps, and other hydraulic components must also be properly rated for the system.
NOTE: Most products require at least some assembly.
