Bought this splitter about 1.5...

Bought this splitter about 1.5yrs ago and split over 7 cords of various hard and soft woods so far. Love this splitter for many reasons, small footprint fits nicely in the shed, good working height with the control in easy reach, and heavy duty build quality but the speed and two way splitting really sets this apart from other splitters. I added the 4 way wedge to my order but this splitter is already so fast and splitting both directions that I can keep a better pace without the 4 way.

I was a little concerned when I first got the splitter as there was a lot of metal particles in the hydraulic oil tank portion of the splitter, I called Boss and they told me it shouldn't be a problem, the filter would prevent any issues. Didn't like that answer much and got out much as I could with a magnet but there was still some in there, hasn't been an issue so I'm probably nitpicking.

I have blown 3 o-rings between the control and pump but I'm not sure why this is, no burs that I can see, o-ring just goes, easy to replace. Even with that this splitter is so much better than the standard twentysomething ton splitters I've used, I would buy it again without hesitation.

I love this splitter !!! Shipping was no hassle.
Assembly easy. Just the right height and ease of one handed operation. Split a lot of wood with less than a gallon of gas used. It is well designed and built with sturdy materials. Love the log catcher too. I recommend this product !!! Great deal.
